SLPD tell me thats when a man opened the door and hit her in the face.
Miss Chhun told me over the phone that “he saw I only had $50 and got mad and hit me two of three times…he broke my nose.” He ended up taking her purse, wallet, credit cards and the cash.
“A lot of people were in their cars but couldn’t do anything.” She says. What is scary— while SLPD says there was nothing to indicate this was race-motivated, I was told these crimes where people get attacked while sitting in their cars ”is becoming very common— we’re seeing more of it.”
